Reinforced gummed paper tape

Glass-fiber-reinforced gummed paper tape with water-activated adhesive

Tape 475 features a Kraft paper backing reinforced with fiberglass and a water-activated adhesive made from corn or potato starch.

This particular tape is made with a brown or white Kraft paper backing—in this case, reinforced with fiberglass—and a water-activated adhesive made from corn or potato starch. This ensures an immediate and secure bond with the cardboard, transforming the tape into a practical tamper-evident system: in fact, at the first attempt to open it, the cardboard will tear along with the tape, immediately revealing that it has been tampered with. Compared to traditional gummed paper tape, this tape features a glass fiber weave that further increases its tensile strength and durability, making it suitable even for sealing very heavy packages.

The entire line can also be customized with logos, messages, and other elements, making it an easy and effective communication and marketing tool.

FSC®-certified supplies are available upon request for this product. The certification applies to supplies identified as such in the relevant commercial documentation.

To use gummed paper tapes, however, you need to have special applicators that, by wetting the adhesive, activate the glue. The main difference is in the frequency and method of use.

In fact, there are different types of dispensers:

  • manual, i.e. semi-electronic or electronic humidifiers for medium-low volumes of package closing.
  • automatic taping machines, for industrial use for the automatic and continuous closing of many packages.
