Gummed paper tape is eco-friendly and sustainable.
This particular tape is made with a brown or white Kraft paper support, in this case reinforced with glass fibres, and a corn or potato starch adhesive that can be activated with water. This ensures that the grip on the cardboard is immediate and solid, transforming the tape into a practical anti-burglary system: at the first attempt to open, in fact, the cardboard will tear together with the tape, immediately revealing the tampering suffered. Compared to classic gummed paper, this tape is equipped with a glass fibre weave that further increases its breaking load and strength, making it suitable for closing even very heavy packages.
The entire line can also be customized with logos, messages and more, thus becoming an easy and immediate communication and marketing tool.
Kraft paper can also be requested with FSC® certification which guarantees its origin from ethically and responsibly managed forests, respecting the highest Chain of Custody (CoC) management standards.
To use gummed paper tapes, however, you need to have special applicators that, by wetting the adhesive, activate the glue. The main difference is in the frequency and method of use.
In fact, there are different types of dispensers:
- manual, i.e. semi-electronic or electronic humidifiers for medium-low volumes of package closing.
- automatic taping machines, for industrial use for the automatic and continuous closing of many packages.
